Diving Canada – Canadian divers collect two wins, three medals at British meet
 
PLYMOUTH, England – Kate Miller of Ottawa and Jordane Legault of Blainville, Que., finished 1-2 in girls one-metre and Benjamin Tessier of Blainville added a victory on boys one-metre on Tuesday at the British Elite Junior Diving Age Group Championships.
 
On girls 12-13 age group, Miller won the gold medal with 290.40 points with Legault close behind at 288.35. Evie Smith of Britain was third at 283.60.
 
‘’It wasn’t my best but it was decent,’’ said Miller. ‘’In the final I was in it to compete and do my best. I was feeling really confident.’’
 
Legault felt she fared better in the preliminaries.
 
‘’The final did not go as well,’’ said Legault. ‘’I was a little bit more stressed.’’
 
In the boys 12-13 one-metre, Tessier took top spot with 319.20. Harrison Hartley of Britain was second at 312.50 and his compatriot Leon Baker third at 307.80.
 
‘’My optionals were my best dives,’’ said Tessier, who improved his score by 17 points in the final. ‘’I knew it was important to have a lot of self-confidence going into the final.’’
