Fast Swimming Continues Among Nova Scotia’s Swimmers at the 2017 RBC Canadian Junior Swimming Championships
Swim Nova Scotia – Toronto, ON– Nova Scotia swimmers had another terrific day in the pool during the fourth day of competition at the RBC Canadian Junior Swimming Championships taking place at Toronto’s Pan Am Sports Centre.
Halifax Trojan swimmer, Hanna Mountford earned herself two second swims today in the women’s 13-14 200m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke. Mountford finished fourteenth in the 200m Freestyle with a time of 2:11.39 and fifth in the 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:05.92, shattering her previous best time.
Nicolaas Groeneveld of the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club made his debut at the competition today swimming the men’s 15-17 200m Breaststroke, where he earned a spot in the consolation final. Groeneveld finished tenth overall with a time of 2:35.85.
Competition in the pool wraps up on Sunday, and the open water events start at 9am July 31st; race distances include 2.5km and 5km.
