Sport Law & Strategy Group (SLSG) – Sept 4, 2019 – The Sport Law & Strategy Group (SLSG) will host its next webinar on Wednesday, September 25th at 12:00pm EST.

Part of being a sport leader and running a safe and thriving sport organization, is knowing how to manage challenging meetings where there can be debate on a topic, unruly behaviour, or uncertainty on process or complying with parliamentary procedure. These situations typically occur at Board meetings, annual or special meetings, or within committees and arise when individuals may not know, or may misinterpret the meeting rules embedded within the bylaws or a 716-page book (Robert’s Rules of Order), which can lead to improper decision-making or even potential abuse of the rules. Sound familiar?

Join Jason Robinson and Kathy Hare, SLSG’s expert parliamentarians, as they walk through some common meeting scenarios to help you navigate your meeting challenges and gain a better understanding and confidence on how to carry out meetings in an efficient and compliant manner. They will share guidelines for presiding over a meeting and how to run meetings via Robert’s Rules of Order as well as rules for making motions and amendments.

To register for the webinar please visit the  Webinar Series on our website. The webinar will be recorded and available following the session for those who register but were unable to attend live.
The SLSG’s “Advancing your Game Webinar Series” is offered throughout the year to sport leaders to help elevate their game!
