Rio Olympics Judokas On the Tatami in Montreal!
Judo Canada – Montreal, January 6, 2017 – For the first and only time in Canada this season, Team Canada’s judokas from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be on the tatami in Montreal during the Elite National Championships 2017. Antoine Valois-Fortier, who recently had hip surgery, and Judo Canada’s Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Gill will be your hosts, describing the matches, explaining maneuvers, and discussing the exceptional athletes present right before your eyes.
A special area will be reserved for media in order to capture images of the bouts. Interviews will be possible with Antoine Valois-Fortier, Nicolas Gill, as well as other athletes during the pause at roughly 2:00 PM.

Additionally, two of Canada’s greatest judokas will be in attendance, including Doug Rodgers, silver medallist at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games and bronze medallist at the 1965 World Championships, as well as Mark Berger, bronze medallist at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games.
