World Bowls, the International Federation for the sport of Lawn Bowls globally, is recruiting new leadership to bring the organization to the forefront of global sport excellence.

In 2021, the World Bowls Board commissioned a comprehensive review to analyse the current status and future aspirations of the organization.  Amongst a set of tangible recommendations, a clear need emerged for new leadership to move the organization into an exciting future focused on marketing global growth.

This is a pivotal moment for World Bowls as long-time CEO Gary Smith steps back to take on the Chief Operating Officer role leaving room for the new CEO to establish a renewed culture built on the foundation of collaboration with member national authorities.

With this posting, World Bowls is acknowledging the desire to develop a transformation agenda for an accessible sport that has already demonstrated commercial success in the Southern Hemisphere.

In an another attempt to modernize the organization and after consideration of an Expression of Interest process, World Bowls has accepted the offer from Bowls Australia to relocate the World Bowls headquarters to Australia and to handle all ongoing Marketing and Communications operations.

Despite the relocation down Under, World Bowls is casting a wide net for CEO recruits and has contracted Michael Catlow, an experienced Australian-based Executive Search Consultant with an impressive domestic and international record in Executive level recruitment, to assist with the process.
