Ontario Soccer – Four OPDL Cup champions crowned over the weekend 

The Boys and Girls U-15 and U-17 OPDL Cup Finals wrapped up  Saturday at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan. 

Ottawa South United won a pair of titles as Markham SC and Richmond Hill also won their respective divisions.

League1 Ontario Men’s playoffs kick off this weekend 

The League1 Ontario Men’s division will kick off their playoff campaign this weekend. 

With a number of interesting match-ups on offer, there will be several must-watch games this weekend.

Female Officials Night will take place at the League1 Ontario Women’s Final 

Female match officials are invited to join Ontario Soccer at the Female League1 Ontario Cup Finals on Aug. 31. 

As part of the Ontario Soccer Female Match Officials strategy, Ontario Soccer is hosting a Female Match Officials night. 

Match officials will receive tickets to the game and have opportunities to connect with the Crew, Assessors and fellow officials.

All to play for this weekend for League1 Ontario women’s teams 
With the first leg of the League1 Ontario Women’s semi-finals in the books, there is still everything to play for, as four teams remain in the hunt. 

The Woodbridge Strikers lead the Oakville Blue Devils 1-0 as the Blue Devils return home on Sunday. FC London holds a narrow 4-3 lead over Vaughan SC as Vaughan also plays host this Sunday.

Register for these upcoming coach development opportunities
Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the date and location of three upcoming Coach Development opportunities. 

There will be two C License available in September as well as a B License Part 1.

Find the latest updates on OSCAR from Aug. 19

Ontario Soccer has added an additional page to its website where regular updates and changes to OSCAR can be found for those who are active in using the registration platform on a more consistent basis. 

Recently, there have been updates for Aug. 19, support insights, tip of the week and look at a club increasing their registration.

Register your team for this year’s Provincial Indoor Soccer League
The Provincial Indoor Soccer League (PISL) is one of the most competitive and prestigious indoor soccer leagues in the province. 

The PISL offers 11-a-side indoor soccer for U13 to U18 divisions for both girls and boys at clubs and academies. The main hub of the league is the Ontario Soccer Centre but games will also be played at three other facilities across Southern Ontario, giving the league a wide area to draw top-level competition from.

Match Officials from across the province honoured at TFC game 
Ontario Soccer and Toronto FC honoured match officials at the 4th Annual Match Officials Appreciation Day on Saturday. 

Following the ceremony where winners were presented with their awards at BMO Field, attendees stayed to cheer on Toronto FC as they faced Orlando City FC.

Apply for these Circle K Grassroots 2v2 Festival Grants 
Ontario Soccer, in partnership with Circle K, is pleased to offer five hosting grants for 2019 for Districts, Clubs and Academies which would like to host a Circle K Grassroots 2v2 Festival. 

Applications are now open for this age and stage appropriate year-end events.

Ottawa was a quick sell-out, so if you’re considering attending the next Circle K 2v2 Grassroots Festival, which is coming to Vaughan in September, be sure to register today.

24 Ontario organizations selected for National Youth Club Licenses

Canada Soccer has announced the 39 clubs in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario who have been granted the Canada Soccer National Youth Club License. 

24 of the organizations hailed from Ontario. 

As the highest amateur youth club designation in the Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program, the National Youth Club License recognizes the highest achieving organizations from across Ontario.

Ontario Soccer announced its 2019-2021 Strategic Plan early in 2019. 

At the Ontario Soccer Summit, delegates got a first look back on the recent successes at Ontario Soccer and a deeper dive into the areas Ontario Soccer will target over the next three years.

Ontario Soccer releases 2019-2021 Strategic Plan

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce its, Board of Directors approved, new Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, which will serve as a road map for soccer in the province over the next three years. 

The Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas of the sport and within those areas, each have three Strategic Initiatives where Ontario Soccer will look at tackling opportunities on and off the field.
