| Match Officials mentor program being introduced in May 2019 |

| Ontario Soccer would like to inform all District Associations, Clubs and Academies of the implementation of the Long Term Match Official Development (LTOD) Mentor Program that is being introduced in May 2019.
As a component of Ontario Trillium Funding, Ontario Soccer will be providing 25 complimentary Mentor Accreditation Clinics across the province. District Referee Coordinators are encouraged to reach out to allocate a clinic.

| In 2018, Ontario Soccer met with 115 clubs face-to-face, to present the importance of Long Term Match Official Development. This year, Ontario Soccer have adjusted the focus of the presentation to Club Board Members including Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Technical Directors, Executive Directors and more.
The match official development department now regularly travel to clubs and districts to present on the importance of LTOD as well as run education sessions.

| Canada to play Mexico at BMO Field in Toronto on May 18 |
|
|
Canadians will have the opportunity to see Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team live in action before the team departs on its mission to bring home the top prize in women’s football – the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy.
Canada will face Mexico on Saturday, May 18 at BMO Field in Toronto. Tickets are now sale.

| 12 Ontario players called to Canada Women’s U-17 camp |
|
| Canada Soccer will hold a six-day Women’s U-17 camp in Markham, ON, as part of the Women’s EXCEL Program.
The May 5-10 camp will feature players from Canada Soccer’s Super REX Centres in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec as well as Regional EXCEL Centres from across the country.
12 Ontario players have been selected to the camp.

Ontario Soccer has released the Ontario Soccer Board of Director Expressions of Interest.
These expressions of interest by individuals indicate their intent to run for open positions in the Ontario Soccer Board of Director elections on June 16, 2019.

| Ontario Player Development League kicks off its sixth season |
|
Ontario Soccer’s Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) will officially enter it’s sixth season this weekend, as games kick-off across the province at six centralized venues.
Twenty-three clubs, one Professional Academy and one Private Academy are confirmed for the upcoming season, as the OPDL will make adjustments in 2019 to better support the advancement of athletes along the Talented Pathway.

| 47 academies to be part of Ontario Academy Soccer League 2019 |
|
The Ontario Academy Soccer League (OASL) season is ready to kick off May 4-5 for its first weekend of play in 2019.
The third year of the OASL Pilot Program operated by Ontario Soccer, in partnership with DG Sports, will feature 47 private Academies and approximately 300 teams from across the province.
Twenty-eight Academies will play in OASL Tier 1 and 19 Academies will play in Tier 2.

| Ontario Soccer Provincial teams dominant at Inter-Provincial |
|
Ontario Soccer’s provincial teams put on a dominant performance at the Inter-Provincial competition recently.
The U-14, U-15 and U-16 teams, for both the boys and girls groups, represented their province as Team Ontario when they took on the provincial squad from Quebec.
Ontario teams finished with a combined record of 10 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses.

The 2019 Ontario Cup draws are now available for all divisions.
The Ontario Cup is the Soccer-For-Life Provincial Soccer Championship and is the largest competition of its kind in Canada.
The Ontario Cup draw has determined the path for over 400 teams across 16 divisions in hopes of becoming provincial champions.

| Ontario Soccer releases 2019-2021 Strategic Plan |
|
Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce its, Board of Directors approved, new Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, which will serve as a road map for soccer in the province over the next three years.
The Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas of the sport and within those areas, each have three Strategic Initiatives where Ontario Soccer will look at tackling opportunities on and off the field.
