Sport for Life Society – Winnipeg, MB – The Sport for Life Society is excited to announce that three more internationally acclaimed keynote presenters have been added to the program for the International Physical Literacy Conference (IPLC) 2019! Delegates will be treated to keynote addresses by each of Dr. John Cairney, Dr. Dean Kriellaars, and Dr. Guy Faulkner. The IPLC 2019 takes place in Winnipeg from May 7 to 10.

  • Dr. John Cairney – One of the most respected names in exercise medicine, Dr. Cairney has produced more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and four books, and has held in excess of $5 million in research funding over the past five years.
  • Dr. Dean Kriellaars – A global advocate for the physical literacy movement, Dr. Kriellaars operates a Human Performance Laboratory in which numerous students and staff are currently researching exercise, physical activity and obesity.
  • Dr. Guy Faulkner – One of the leading experts on physical activity interventions, Dr. Faulkner’s expertise focuses on the intersection between physical activity and mental health.

By developing physical literacy across the life course, individuals empower themselves to be better at work, better at physical activities, have better mental health and happiness, and better engage with their community. It is important to every sector, and each sector has a role to play in ensuring everyone has the opportunity to develop physical literacy. Join us as leaders from across the globe share best practices and research to advance the worldwide physical literacy movement.
