April 14, 2020 – Toronto – The Sport Law & Strategy Group (SLSG) is pleased to announce that it has acquired a subscription package with the online voting platform Simply Voting, to support sport organizations in hosting effective and secure electronic meetings.

The Simply Voting platform allows an organization to conduct secure, third-party voting events (motions and elections) in tandem with a virtual meeting. The SLSG version of the platform includes up to 250 participants per voting event, various voting functions and methodologies, encrypted authentication for each eligible voter, and immediate result tabulation and display.

Several Canadian sport organizations have already used platforms like Simply Voting, such as Canoe Kayak Canada, Rowing Canada, Swimming Canada and Taekwondo Canada. Casey Wade, CEO of Canoe Kayak Canada, believes Simply Voting is an effective, efficient, and cost-effective way to ensure integrity in the voting process. “We have been using this tool for the past two years and have found it to be seamless and it facilitates higher levels of participation from members who may not be available for in-person meetings. In addition, we have found it beneficial to have the SLSG manage the process so that we can concentrate on effective decision-making during our AGMs and other meetings that require member voting.”
