ISPARC is hosting a photo contest open to all ages and abilities.
The Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (ISPARC) wants your photos! As part of a unique project to get our youth moving, were looking for images of Indigenous youth engaging in cultural activities that encourage physical activity.
The ISPARC photo contest is open to photographers of all ages and abilities. There are 27 categories to participate in, and the photos can be current or previously taken. The selected images will be featured on a set of activity cards linking Indigenous cultural sports and activities to physical literacy. The cards will be used to increase physical activity in school aged youth, and also provide a space for discussions with young people about their ancestry, family histories, language, cultural practices and how movement is needed for the cultural activities.
ISPARC will award $25 Visa gift cards to the winners whose photos will be used for the activity card set. The grand prize winners will also receive a printed set of the activity cards. Each photo submitted will also be entered into a draw for three prizes of $100 Visa gift cards – the more photos you submit, the more entries you receive for a chance to win!
