Results from the 2024 Eastern Canadian Swimming Championships
Quebec City, QC – Nova Scotia’s young swimming talents showcased their ability at the 2024 Eastern Canadian Swimming Championships, held in Quebec City. The four-day event, hosted at PEPS Université de Laval, witnessed great competition among over 600 swimmers from 105 teams across Eastern Canada from March 21st to 24th, 2024.
Representing Nova Scotia were twenty-six swimmers from five swim clubs, who left a notable mark with a total of four medals. Halifax Trojan swimmer Julie Nolan-McCarthy emerged as a standout performer, securing two medals – a gold in the 100m Breaststroke and a silver in the 200m Breaststroke, where she also set a new Nova Scotia Provincial Record in the 15-17 women’s category.
Additionally, Halifax Trojan’s Aliyah Bloom clinched a silver medal in the 200m Backstroke, while Alexia Morgans, also from Halifax Trojans, secured a silver in the Youth 200m Butterfly.
As competition wrapped up at the Eastern Canadian Swimming Championships, attention now turns to the upcoming 2024 Olympic-Paralympic Trials, scheduled to take place at Montreal’s Olympic Park Pool from May 13th to 19th, 2024. Nova Scotia’s top swimmers will once again dive into competition, aiming to secure their spots on the national stage.
