Registration closes on September 13th, 2019. Registration is limited and will be filled on a “first come, first serve” basis.

Return leaders will join us at lunch (12:15pm) on the first day of training, and new leaders will attend the full two days of training.

This year’s agenda includes workshops in the Holistic Wellness Model, Sports Injury, Cannabis, Mental Wellness, Traditional Food and a number of active sessions including Nordic Walking, Yoga, FitNation, and Pound Fitness. In addition, a Traditional Medicine evening workshop will be offered in select locations. Participants will learn from experts in their respective fields, and develop the skills necessary to design and deliver their own healthy living community program.

At the conclusion of training, participants are eligible for up to $1000 in grant support for their Indigenous RunWalk or Honour Your Health Challenge community program.

  • Indigenous RunWalk: choose from an 8-week program gearing up participants for a 5K or a 13-week program gearing up participants for a 10K run/walk event.
  • Honour Your Health Challenge: develop your own program focused on physical activity, healthy eating, respecting tobacco or healthy pregnancies – past programs include creating a community cookbook, “Family Fitness Fridays,” planting medicinal tea gardens, “Kick the Nic” tobacco program, “Moccasin Mamas,” and many more.
