The Ottawa Sport Council is pleased to announce another opportunity for Ottawa based community sport organizations to discuss volunteer recruitment and retention in the pandemic environment. The Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Huddle will be offered virtually, via Zoom, on two separate dates: May 17 (18:30-20:30) and May 18 (11:30-13:30). This workshop is the next installment of the Ottawa Sport Council’s 2021 Rebound program.  This free 6-part program is being offered with the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund.

In April, we hosted the sold out Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Chalk Talk, led by expert Dina Bell-Laroche, of the Sport Law and Strategy Group. Participants found the material covered in the workshop and the connection to their peers very valuable.  The Huddle, facilitated by Derek Johnston, will offer participants an opportunity to gather around the virtual table and learn from one another. Dina will also join the conversation as our subject matter expert to provide further insight to the conversations, answer questions and build on discussions from the Chalk Talk.

All are welcome to the Volunteer Recruitment & Retention Huddle!

If you attended the Volunteer Recruitment & Retention Chalk Talk, you’re more than welcome to join the Huddle and tell us about how you’ve considered implementing new volunteer recruitment and retention tactics.

If you didn’t join us for one of the Chalk Talks, we are inviting you to join the Huddle and share your experiences and thoughts on volunteer recruitment and retention.
