March 15, 2020 (Ottawa) – The Recreation Association (RA) is proud to offer a broad range of programs and services. As a community partner our priority is always the health and safety of our members, clients, volunteers and staff including many who may be particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. As of today, there are no known cases of COVID-19 at the RA Centre.

Given the evolving situation, we have struggled with the decision to remain operational while maintaining the health of our members and community while continuing to monitor the public health risk and following the guidance provided by Ottawa Public Health.

With new cases indicating transmission through community contact and after careful consideration and review of recommendations from community health leaders, the RA has made the difficult decision to suspend operations within the RA Centre as of the end of business Sunday, March 15, 2020

All clubs, leagues, programs and activities at the RA’s main campus on Riverside Drive (the RA Centre) have been suspended until April 5, 2020. Further information is available on the RA’s website at www.racentre.com/coronavirus.

The RA is carefully evaluating all information including information from public health agencies. We continue to pay close attention to their updates, advice and direction. As a responsible member of the community we are working to support the efforts of health officials to stop the spread of COVID-19.
