BC Rugby – Vancouver, BC – January 21, 2019: With just days left to sign up for the 2019Vancouver Sevens Invitational, BC Rugby is happy to announce prize monies for winners of the NextGen Men’s and Women’s Divisions. The winning teams of each division will be awarded CAD$1,500.

A handful of spots remain in the NextGen divisions, a competition designed for the next generation of aspiring adult players to represent their country. 2018 Men’s Winners, BC NextGen, are set to return to defend their title while in the Women’s competition already has new challengers for the title including UBC Thunderbirds and Central Alberta Predators. 

In the U18 and U16 boys’ and girls’ divisions, several teams from BC Rugby’s Elite 7s programs will be meeting regional and provincial sides from Alberta and Manitoba.

While the deadline for registration is January 31st, an exclusive rate with Sandman Downtown expires on January 24 for any teams entered into the Vancouver Sevens Invitational. To secure this rate, contact Sean Harris (Sales Manager) directly atsharris@sandman.ca or 604-557-4207.

Registration per team is just $350, so what are you waiting for? The registration deadline is 5pm on January 31st, 2019, but spaces in each division are limited, so don’t delay!

 
The Vancouver Sevens Invitational will take place on March 7th & 8th, 2019. The event will once again be held at the Gerald McGavin Rugby Centre at UBC.  The two-day tournament is a huge part of the Vancouver Rugby Festival, a week-long celebration of rugby in the city on the run-up to the 2019 HSBC Canada Sevens.
