Due to the pandemic (covid-19) with the spikes nation wide, the Atlantic bubble still in place, coupled with the fact that para athletes are at higher risk, both the National Para Championship and the camp to follow are postponed indefinitely at this point.
Para Table Tennis Program Manager Ian Kent: “Frustrating times for our Para athletes dealing with covid-19 and now two postponements of our National Championships. I encourage each and every athlete to practice safely and use the time wisely. If table time is hard to come by, work on physical fitness and serves if you have your own table. If you can practice, work on your biggest weakness and biggest strength. Be patient, work smart and stay safe!”
Next up are regional camps, starting in Atlantic Canada, then combined Quebec/Ontario, followed by BC. These will be mini 4 day camps held in HRM, Toronto and Vancouver subject to the regulations surrounding the pandemic.
