We would like to inform you that the media accreditation process for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament Victoria, Canada, taking place from 29 June to 4 July 2021, is now underway.

All media representatives, local and international, wishing to attend one of the OQTs should apply through the FIBA Media Portal. No other form of application will be accepted.

The deadline to apply is Friday 4 June 2021 (23:59 CET).

COVID-19 MEASURES

Please, note that all accredited media are expected to fully respect and comply with COVID-19 related guidelines which, among others, may restrict access to certain areas and activities inside the venue. In some cases, if required by local authorities, the number of media accredited may have to be reduced even after approval, at the discretion of the host.

All media accredited to a FIBA competition are required to restrict social contacts and take all necessary risk-prevention precautions for the 10-day period preceding their work in the competition.

Please consider that, in order to minimize infection risks, a negative PCR test taken no later than 48 hours prior to the first entrance in the venue will have to be presented before collecting a media accreditation.

Additionally, rapid antigen testing may be required during the tournaments. More detailed guidelines and information will be forwarded to accredited media following their accreditation approval.

OQT VICTORIA, CANADA

Currently, Canadian regulations do not allow entrance into the country to any person without a 14-day quarantine period. A waiver of these requirements for foreign non-rights holder media cannot be confirmed at the moment, given global pandemic developments.  FIBA and the Local Organizing Committee are working on it and more information will follow soon.

For Canadian-based media, the accreditation process is underway and access to the event should be guaranteed for a limited number of media members.
