Sport Calgary – CALGARY, Alberta — Sport Calgary announced today that Mary Moran has been unanimously selected as Chair of its volunteer Board of Directors.

Moran has been a long-serving member of the Sport Calgary Board of Directors. She is in the final year of her second term, after first being elected in 2014.

Moran is the President & CEO of Calgary Economic Development (CED), which works with business, government and community partners to position Calgary as the location of choice for the purpose of attracting business investment, fostering trade and growing Calgary’s workforce. Last year, she engaged the amateur sport community as CEO of the Calgary 2026 Bid Corporation.

She also has extensive prior leadership experience with TELUS, Delta Hotels, Canadian Airlines and WARDAIR.

“Mary is the perfect choice as volunteer Chair for Sport Calgary,” said Murray Sigler, Sport Calgary CEO. “She has a lifelong involvement with amateur sport and fully represents Sport Calgary’s values.
