WINNIPEG, MB January 6, 2020: Yohnatan Elizarov from Skate Winnipeg is headed to Mississauga Ontario to represent Skate Canada Manitoba in the Novice Men’s event at the 2020 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships.  All competition and practices are taking place at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre from Sunday January 12th to Saturday January 18th.  The Novice Men’s event will take place on Monday and Tuesday (Jan 13 & 14), starting with the short program.

Elizarov earned his spot to this year’s Nationals at Skate Canada Challenge which was held in Edmonton Nov 27- Dec 1, 2019.  He was of only 18 Novice Men to earn a spot to compete at the National Skating Championships.  This is the second year for Elizarov to secure a spot to the National Championships in the Novice Men’s event, last year he finished 11th.

Skate Canada Manitoba Chair, Donna Yee, stated that she was pleased that Yohnatan once again earned a spot to attend Nationals and knows that he will represent our Province and his home club with pride.  She continued to say, “that both Yohnatan and his coach Margo Russell have worked hard all year to attain this goal, so congratulations to both of them.”
