The final championship for the 2023 bowls season is set to begin. The Canadian Indoor Singles Championship will be taking place at the Pacific Indoor Bowls Club (PIBC) in Vancouver, BC from Oct 24-28, 2023. As Canada’s largest bowls-specific indoor facility, the PIBC boasts 6 world class rinks.
The event will feature 12 men and 12 women competing for the chance to represent Canada at the World Indoor Championships in 2024. The gold medalist in both the men’s and women’s singles will compete at the World Bowls Indoor Championships in Guernsey, UK, from April 21-27, 2024.
New for 2023, the Canadian qualifier will consist of two groups of six, instead of the traditional 12-person round robin. A new twist in qualifying for playoffs will see the top three from each section advancing, with the top seed in each group getting a bye to the semifinals.
