Nova Scotia Golf Association – Hebb leads after round one
Baddeck, N.S. – The field at the 2019 #GOLFBEATTIESTONG Men’s Senior Championship, hosted at Bell Bay Golf Club, has completed round one of the tournament. With the beautiful course conditions and equally nice weather, someone was bound to post an impressive score.

Ashburn’s Mike Hebb did just that, firing an opening round of 5-under, 34-33–67. Complete with a staggering six birdies, three per side, and one bogey. Hebb sits four shots ahead of Bay of Quinte G&CC’s Phil Howlett, who scored 1-under, 34-37–71, after making four birdies and three bogies.

In 3rd place, there is a six way tie. All currently at 1-over par are: Denis McGuire (Penn Hills), defending champ Jim MacMaster (NSPPC), Ernie Sheeves (Bell Bay), Chris McCarthy (Avon Valley), Paddy Hynes (Ashburn), and Stephen Locke (Truro).

Leading the Super Senior (65+) division are Jim MacMaster and Chris McCarthy, who both sit at 1-over 73. Only two shots back, at 3-over 75, is Gerry MacMillan of Paragon.

Divison 2 is lead by Phill Howlett, and tied in second are Denis McGuire (Penn Hills) and Chris McCarthy (Avon Valley).
