Did you know?

The Team BC Logo, the Soaring Raven represents the strength and determination of the Team BC athletes, coaches and all nations within British Columbia. The Sun provides connection to our ancestors and is the basis of all light and nourishment on this earth. The Raven flying, swooping and soaring parallels the plight of the athlete. With great confidence they show that new heights are possible by transforming and adapting to the surroundings of the unknown.

The logo was designed by Kwakwaka’wakw Artist, Jamin Zuroski.

2023 NAIG has a COVID-19 vaccination policy for all athletes, coaches, chaperones, mission staff and other participants.

This Policy on Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccines for all participants has been developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its objective is to maintain the health and safety of NAIG participants and other stakeholders who engage in the 2023 NAIG. This policy has been created and will be in effect for the duration of the 2023 NAIG event.

About the 2023 NAIG

NAIG will be the largest multi-sport and cultural event ever to be held in Atlantic Canada. More than 5,000 athletes, coaches and team staff from 756 Indigenous nations will take part in cultural celebrations, and compete in 16 sports across 21 venues, with the help of 3,000 volunteers. 2020 NAIG was originally due to take place from July 12 to 18, 2020 in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), and Millbrook First Nation, Nova Scotia and has now been set to take place July 15 to 23, 2023. You can learn more about NAIG HERE

Team BC has taken part in every NAIG since its inception in 1990. We look forward to bringing another outstanding team to Halifax. Did you know, at the 2014 NAIG in Regina, Saskatchewan, Team BC made history as the first team to be awarded both the Overall Team Award (for most medals) and the John Fletcher Spirit Award for being voted team with most integrity and sportsmanship. Let’s keep the tradition going!
