Dodgeball Ontario Brings World-Class Dodgeball Athletes to Kingston for the 2022 Provincial Championships

KINGSTON: Following a two-year hiatus from the Ontario Provincial Championships, the province’s most prestigious dodgeball event will take centre court once again this weekend. Thanks to the support from Tourism Kingston, the 2022 Dodgeball Ontario Provincial Championships are being held March 19-20, 2022 at Mitchell Hall at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Athletes will compete in men’s and women’s divisions using the official World Dodgeball Federation (WDBF) rules for foam-style dodgeball.

Top ranking teams will advance to the Dodgeball Canada National Championships in Edmonton, Alberta taking place June 16-19, 2022.

“The Provincial Championships bring the best athletes in the province together to compete for the coveted title of Provincial Champion,” says Bianca Segatto, President of Dodgeball Ontario. “Many of these athletes are former members of Team Canada and will be seeking the opportunity to represent the country in future world championships.”

Dodgeball has grown beyond the confines of being a kids’ game with Dodgeball Provincial Sport Organizations across Canada and national sports bodies all over the world. “It’s a fast-paced sport with athleticism and strategy. Just when you think you know what dodgeball is all about, you see these athletes competing with such intensity and realize this sport has evolved and it’s thrilling to watch,” adds Segatto.

Join the action from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm this Saturday and Sunday. If you can’t attend in person, games will be live streamed on Twitch @DodgeballTTV.

Spectators are welcome to attend free of charge. For entry into the event space, all participants, staff, and spectators must have a government issued photo ID and present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination – meaning the full series or combination of a Health Canada approved vaccine – received prior to March 4, 2022. An enhanced vaccine certificate with a QR code, which can be scanned with the Verify Ontario App, must be presented upon entry.

Dodgeball Ontario would also like to thank our sponsors for the 2022 Ontario Provincial Championships: Tourism Kingston, Natural Calm Canada, Nuun Hydration, and Mid-Day Squares.
