CSEP 2023 Awards and Grants: Applications and Nominations

The deadline to submit an application or nomination is Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) is accepting applications and nominations for their 2023 Awards and Grants!

Each year, CSEP honours those who exemplify outstanding leadership and dedication, and those who have made a remarkable impact on the health and well-being of Canadians. Our awards encompass various categories acknowledging research, notable contributions to the profession, mentorship, and commendable service to the advancement of evidence-informed exercise science research and practice.

Apply yourself or nominate a deserving individual to help us recognize excellence in the exercise physiology community.

Awards:

  • CSEP Fellowship: An academic or certified member who has inspired research excellence or has been a bridge-builder in strengthening relationships between academic and certified members.
  • CSEP Honour Award: A CSEP member who has made an outstanding contribution to exercise physiology in Canada.
  • CSEP Mentorship Award in Honour of Enzo Cafarelli: A graduate-level Professor or Advisor who demonstrates exemplary mentorship.
  • CSEP Young Investigator Award: A CSEP member who has received a Ph.D. or M.D. degree within the past 10 years and has a strong international reputation.
  • Ally in Action Award: An individual or entity who operates with values shared by CSEP, in relation to the promotion of exercise physiology or physical activity.
  • CSEP Professional Standards Program Recognition Award: A CSEP Certified member who has made an outstanding contribution to CSEP’s Professional Standards Program®

Grants:

  • CSEP Seed Grant: Supports a CSEP Academic member in obtaining pilot data in support of a larger funding application at a recognized foundation or agency.
  • CSEP Student Travel Award: Provides travel support to the CSEP 2023 conference to a CSEP member who is an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application and has submitted an abstract to be presented. The deadline to apply for this grant is July 28, 2023.
  • CSEP Partnership Grant: Provides an individual with support for professional development opportunities throughout Canada.
  • CSEP Scholarship for Persons from Underrepresented Groups: Provides direct support to a CSEP Certified or student member from an underrepresented group.
  • CSEP Certified Members Business Growth Grant: Provides support to a CSEP Certified member who has acquired a business number and/or business location in the past 2 calendar years.
  • CSEP-APNM Student Travel Award: Supports a full-time graduate student at a Canadian institution who has completed outstanding research. The recipient will present their research during a regional-level exercise physiology conference or meeting.
