Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the January 2022 Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Monthrecipient; Jacob Cote, a 16-year-old figure skater from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.  

In December 2021 Jacob placed 5th overall at Skate Canada’s National Challenge in the Novice Men’s Category after scoring 5th in the Short Program with a personal best score of 42.42 and 3rd place in the Free Program.  Jacob qualified to compete at the 2022 Canadian Tire Skate Canada National Championships which will take place in Ottawa (postponed due to Covid, new date TBD).

Sport Nova Scotia recognizes athletes and their outstanding contributions both on and off the field of play. It is our hope that these athletes will be a source of inspirations to all Nova Scotia athletes in their sporting pursuits and encourage them to give back to their community.   • The Athlete of the Month program is administered by Sport Nova Scotia, whose members are eligible to nominate athletes for the awards.
  • A membership committee selects the award recipients for five possible categories: Male Individual Athlete, Female Individual Athlete, Male Team Athlete, Female Team Athlete, and Team.
