The Centennial College Athletics and Recreation Department is pleased to announce that Naomi Mullings will be joining the coaching staff as the new Head Coach for the Women’s Varsity Basketball Team.   

Naomi is a skilled and passionate coach with over 20 years of experience and 10 years as a head coach with a track record of developing winning teams with strong character. During her extensive career, Naomi has coached at high schools, the OBA, Toronto Triple Threat, the Alvin Williams Academy of Hoops, and Seneca College. Most Recently, Naomi was the Assistant Coach of the Women’s Basketball at the University of Manitoba.  

Naomi brings a special quality and expertise in creating successful game plans, working on players’ basketball skills while ensuring they maintain their focus on their academics. She is a level 2 NCCP certified coach and is working on her level 3 certification.   

Coach Mullings possesses strong leadership skills and has a charismatic personality, which makes her mentoring of young women more effective and leads to enhanced team motivation. As a former player in the OCAA, Naomi has an incredible understanding of the environment and knows what it takes to help young women reach their potential. During her playing days, she was a three-time OCAA All-Star with both Seneca and Durham Colleges.

All these roles and experiences have taught me how important it is to build strong relationships with players, coaches, and all stakeholders within each organization, and I know it will enable me to succeed at Centennial College” says Coach Mullings.

She understands that it will be a process to rebuild the Women’s program, but has patience and trust in all players, coaches, and staff that together with support and available resources, a strong foundation can be built, and the team will be a force in the OCAA for years to come” says Manager of Athletics and Recreation at Centennial College, Darcy Brioux.
