OTTAWA – The 2021 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft concluded today for rounds 11 through 20 with eight Canadians hearing their name called.

In total, 17 Canadians were selected including seven current or former members of Baseball Canada’s Junior National Team (U18) program.

The Toronto Blue Jays selected a pair of Canadians on Day 3 including Junior National Team alumnus Damiano Palmegiani in the 14th round while high school right-hander Micah Bucknam (Abbotsford, BC) was taken by the Jays in the 16th round.

Palmegiani was selected by the Blue Jays as a high school player in the 2018 MLB Draft.
