Toronto, ON (Monday, November 28) – Canadian Women & Sport and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) announced a new research partnership aimed at producing a report on the opportunity and impact of the emerging professional women’s sport marketplace in Canada.

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with Canadian Women & Sport given the passion we collectively share on this topic and our appreciation for the importance of this work,” says Nan DasGupta at BCG.

Working closely with Canadian Women & Sport and its Commercial Women’s Sport Advisory Group, BCG will drive the core research, exploring key questions around the opportunity for professional women’s sports in Canada and the related financial, commercial and social benefits.

“Our ultimate goal is to present an innovative model to understanding and valuing professional women’s sport in Canada,” says Allison Sandmeyer-Graves, CEO at Canadian Women & Sport. “If it’s going to be successful, it has to be done differently. Gender equity must be central to investments and operations from day one.”

Dr. Cheri Bradish, Director, Future of Sport Lab and Sport Initiatives, Toronto Metropolitan University, will provide academic leadership on the project.

“We believe women’s professional sport has a unique and strong value proposition for investors in Canada,” says Bradish. “We look forward to uncovering and sharing the next steps needed to catalyze and capitalize on this opportunity.”

Canadian Tire Corporation is the Premier National Partner for the Group and the Report.

The report will be released early 2023.
