VICTORIA, BC (March 1, 2023)

Canadian Sport Institute Pacific (CSI Pacific) and all employees, Board members, contractors and interns have signed the agreement to join Abuse-Free Sport, the independent program created to prevent and address maltreatment in sport.

By signing on, CSI Pacific now has access to the services provided by the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC), which serves as the central hub of Abuse-Free Sport.

As part of joining Abuse-Free Sport, CSI Pacific has completed the full adoption of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS).  All required policy updates have also been completed.

CSI Pacific participants will also continue to have access to independent third-party services through ITP Sport: https://itpsport.ca/

“Abuse-free sport is essential to the well-being of athletes, coaches, practitioners and everyone who works in and around sport. We at CSI Pacific are committed to safe and inclusive sport,” states Wendy Pattenden, CEO, Canadian Sport Institute Pacific. “We applaud Sport Canada, the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner and Minister St-Onge for their commitments and contributions to safe sport in Canada.”
