Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 – Toronto, ON

The Canadian Sailing Team and Development Squad all gathered in the big city for three days of training at the National Team Camp.

During this camp, sailors are being pushed outside of their comfort zones, testing their fitness, knowledge, and skills. “The purpose of this camp is team building, working on increasing athletes’ technical knowledge, and passing on critical information moving forward to Tokyo 2020 and Paris in 2024,” says High-Performance Director, Mike Milner. “It is also a chance for athletes to give feedback to coaches and support staff.”

Put in teams of 3 – 4, our Canadian sailors are engaging in team-building activities while learning valuable skills Match Racing in Sonars. With the expertise of Lance Fraser, Peter Wickwire and Mike Wolfs, athletes were able to spend the day on the water learning the tricks of the trade allowing them to practice for their races tomorrow.
