CSI Pacific – VICTORIA, BC – Markus Thormeyer, a registered athlete with CSI Pacific since 2013 and part of the Swimming Canada National Training Centre in Vancouver, recently competed at the Canadian Swimming Trials and absolutely shattered expectations. Markus went a perfect 4 for 4 winning all of the races he competed in: 100m & 200m Freestyle, 100m & 200m Backstroke. In doing so, Markus set four personal bests and one Canadian record! (100m Backstroke).

Due these incredible accomplishments, Markus has been named CSI Pacific Athlete of the Month Powered by 2XU for April 2019.

Markus was a 2016 Olympian in Rio, finishing 7th place in in the Men’s 4x100m Free Relay and earned a Bronze medal in the 100m Backstroke at the Commonwealth Games. As well, he won seven Golds and set seven meet records at the 2019 U Sports Championships. 

Previous winners have included Celina Toth (Diving Canada) Hayato Sato (Curling Canada), and Simon d’Artois (Freestyle Canada).
