Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame -Five days left to vote! Public poll closes on October 11, 2019-

New in 2019, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame People’s Choice Poll was initiated on September 20, 2019 to encourage the public to follow current sports champions who are champions of their sport and champions for their community.

Whereas Induction into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame requires that an athlete be retired from competition, the People’s Choice Award includes only athletes who are currently competitive. One individual is elected annually as a potential future Hall of Famer for both his or her sports accomplishment and in recognition of recent and relevant engagement in his or her community.

“We feel it is our responsibility to recognize the whole of these champions – not just the ‘great’ in sport, but the ‘good’ they do for Canada. The People’s Choice Poll promotes and encourages the public to vote (and follow) these top 16 trending athletes who are using their current sports career successes for good. They are raising awareness, focusing on causes and advocating for their sport,” said Cheryl Bernard, President and CEO of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame encourages the public to vote for the strongest voice for Sport + Spirit at PeoplesChoice.Sportshall.ca. The People’s Choice Champion will be announced and will receive the award on October 23, 2019 at the 64th Induction Festival. Each voter will also be entered for a chance to win a trip to Toronto for the 64th Annual Induction Festival and presentation of the People’s Choice Award.
