Baseball Nova Scotia – Baseball Nova Scotia, along with the host committee from Hammonds Plains, will once again play host to the 16U Baseball Canada Girls Invitational Championship in Bedford.

Last year team Nova Scotia advanced to final for the first time ever. Although they lost to Quebec, a silver medal capped off an amazing 4 days of baseball. The championship venue was jammed packed with fans and thousands more watched the action on the webcast. Nova Scotia will be looking to claim the provinces first gold medal this summer.

In attendance will be Nicole Luckanski, former Women’s National Team player from 2006 – 2018.

She helped Canada capture Silver at the Pan Am Games held in 2015. She was named to the All-Star team and the Woman’s World Cup in 2012. Now retired as a player, she is still involved in the national program and will be in town to scout on behalf of Team Canada. The next super star for our woman’s national team will be coming from one of these provincial teams.

Games get underway this Thursday at the Robert and Joan Lenihan Fields, as well as Weir Field in Upper Sackville. Nova Scotia Team 1 plays Alberta at noon, while Nova Scotia Team 2 takes on Team NL at 9:00am, at the Bedford fields.
