April 23, 2024 (Vancouver B.C.)  B.C. Wheelchair Basketball Society is excited to announce the roster of B.C. athletes and team staff headed to Fredericton, NB, for the 2024 CWBL Open National Championship.

“BCWBS had great success in 2023 with our junior program and it is great to see the progression of the Team B.C. senior squad naming some great young talent to go to the 2024 Open Championship,” states Simon Cass, Head Coach, Team B.C. Grizzlies.
 
“For many of these athletes, it will be their first time competing at a senior national championship. With such a great young team, Team B.C. is hoping to podium in 2024,” continues Cass. “We are excited to also be joined by Tara Llanes and Ben Hagkull who have just returned home from tournaments where they helped Team Canada qualify spots at the 2024 Paralympic Summer Games in Paris.”

The 2024 CWBL Open Championship tournament will feature a 5×5 National Championship comprised of teams from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and host province New Brunswick. There will also be a 3×3 recreational division to help develop and grow the ever popular 3×3 discipline.
