I∙SPARC is pleased to present
this provincial athlete development camp in partnership with the Golden
Ears Métis Society and the BC Wrestling Association. This camp will be
delivered by Team BC NAIG Head Coach Rob Smyth.
Who: Male and female Indigenous Youth (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) ages 11-18
Where: Westview Secondary School, 20905 Wicklund Ave, Maple Ridge, BC
When: Saturday, March 28
- 9:15 – Athlete Check-in
- 9:30 – Welcome and Introductions
- 10:00 – Warm up, Skill Development and Training
- 12:00 – Lunch (provided)
- 12:45 – Skill Development and Training
- 3:00 – End of Camp
Instruction will be based on age and wrestling experience.
Cost: FREE!!! Thanks to the support of the Province of BC, there is NO fee to participate in the camp, it is FREE and includes lunch and snacks.
Pre-Registration is required! Limited spaces are available at the camp. Equipment will be provided; please bring a water bottle and dress for the weather.
Please note this is NOT a Team BC Selection event for the 2020 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG), however, this event does provide opportunity for athletes to meet Team BC Head Coach, Rob Smyth, and to better prepare for the Team BC selection process for NAIG 2020.

eam BC Selection Process for 2020 NAIG
All eligible wrestlers (Indigenous athletes
First Nations, Métis, Inuit born in years 2001 through 2005) wishing to
be considered for Team BC competing at NAIG 2020 are required to submit
a formal athlete Expression of Interest
followed by, or accompanied by, previous compeitition results and
experience, and references by March 30, 2020.
