The President of Concacaf and Vice-President of FIFA has shared a special message ahead of Ontario Soccer Summit 2020. 

Victor Montagliani, who will be a keynote speaker for the event being held Feb. 21-23, 2020 in Hamilton, is excited to talk about the Canadian Premier League, 2026 and how we move forward and everything about the beautiful game in Canada.

The first C-License course of 2020 has been announced

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the date and location of an upcoming C License course. 

The focus of the C License is on the individual player in the different contexts of the game, as we try to develop their decision making and build their level of execution. 

Coaches who obtain a C License Certification will be able to be a Head Coach in some Regional Leagues, the OASL and an Assistant Coach in the OPDL.

One week left to register your team for the 2020 Ontario Indoor Cup

The 2020 Ontario Indoor Cup dates and locations have been finalized and are now available online. 

The 2020 Ontario Indoor Cup Entry Rules and Entry Form are now available online. The entry deadline is Dec. 4, 2019.

Ontario Futsal Cup registration deadline is Dec. 11

For the first time ever, the sport of futsal will be introduced in the 2020 Ontario Winter Games. 

The 2020 Ontario Futsal Cup will be played in the Winter Games in the U-18 Boys and Girls divisions. Teams that enter the Ontario Futsal Cup in these divisions will be given an opportunity to qualify for the Final Round of the Ontario Futsal Cup, which will be held at the Ontario Winter Games. 

Registration for the U-18 division, as well as other divisions, are now open for the Ontario Futsal Cup.

10 Ontario players, 7 OPDL grads, called to Canada U-17 camp
Canada Soccer have announced their squad for the Women’s National U-17 Excel camp in Mexico City from Nov. 25 – Dec. 2. 

The eight-day camp, which will include international matches against Mexico on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1, will feature 10 players from Ontario, including seven OPDL graduates, as they prepare for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2020.

There is still time to register for the Goalkeeping Diploma Course
Ontario Soccer has announced the upcoming Goalkeeping Coach Diploma Course, which is being held at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan on Dec. 5 and 6, 2019. 

The Goalkeeper Diploma Course is an in-person workshop, produced by Ontario Soccer, that combines theoretical and practical components on Goalkeeping Coaching.

5 Ontario players selected for Canada Para milestone match
Canada Para Soccer will feature in its 100th international Para Soccer match this Saturday, Nov. 30 in Cromer, Australia. The 2019 international friendly is part of a two-match series that will close our Canada’s 15th international season since their 2005 debut. 

Five Ontario players have been selected for the 12 player squad.

Application details for 2020 Ontario Cup semi-final hosting 
Ontario Soccer is now accepting bids from District Associations interested in hosting the Ontario Cup Semi-Finals in 2020. 

The 2020 Ontario Cup Semi-Finals will be held on Aug. 29-20, 2020. The deadline for submitting a bid to host the Ontario Cup Semi-Finals is January 18, 2020.

Ontario Soccer announces 2020 Provincial Projects invites 

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the selections for the 2020 Provincial Projects. 

The selected athletes, between 40-50 per age group and gender, were previously evaluated at the Provincial Screening Competition in October or throughout the year and will now be further screened as part of the Provincial Projects. 

The screening sessions and the preparation weekends will take place at the Ontario Soccer Centre, before the final rosters selections for the Provincial Teams are announced in April.

Ontario Soccer releases 2019-2021 Strategic Plan

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce its, Board of Directors approved new Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, which will serve as a road map for soccer in the province over the next three years. 

The Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas of the sport and within those areas, each have three Strategic Initiatives where Ontario Soccer will look at tackling opportunities on and off the field.
