Service Description:
The Osteopathic manual practitioner works in conjunction with the other therapists in the Brock Sport Medicine clinic at Canada Games Park, where they work as part of a multi-disciplinary sport medicine team and provide treatment and rehabilitation to community, varsity athletes and community athletes/teams. We are looking for an Osteopath who is motivated, patient-focused, and who will work well within a Team-based environment. Applicants must be registered, in good standing the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO).
The Osteopathic manual practitioner promotes the Brock Sport Medicine Clinic with the priority to retain clientele and have effective strategies for client referral.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for improving the health and well-being of individuals through osteopathic techniques. This role involves working closely with patients of all ages to assess their needs and provide effective treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine their physical health and needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing manual osteopathic techniques.
- Provide patient care that includes pain management strategies and rehabilitation exercises.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including data collection and medical terminology.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the clinic to ensure comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment options, health maintenance, and wellness strategies.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of patient care practices, across different age groups and demographics.
- Proficiency in data collection methods and maintaining medical records.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to osteopathy and general healthcare.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary clinic/office environment is preferred.
- Ability to manage pain effectively through various osteopathic techniques.
- Knowledge of Jane App or similar electronic health record systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Member (in good-standing) of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners.
- Hold valid and current malpractice insurance; Diploma in Osteopathy Manual Practice (D.O.M.P.).
- Minimum of 2 years of related Osteopathic experience in a multidisciplinary setting
- Relevant experience using Osteopathic treatment with a sporting population
- Certifications in SFMA Level 1 & 2 preferred
- Standard First Aid/CPR/AED
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Proven organizational, communication, interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Flexible and responsive to changing needs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Provided flexibility in scheduling, and offer Administrative Support for marketing, scheduling and direct billing.
