Position Title: Chief Executive Officer

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Committees, Chief Operating Officer, and other stakeholders to establish goals that align with the strategic objectives, policies, and direction of the CSSHL.
- Identify, assess, and inform the Chair of the Board of Directors of internal and external opportunities, risks, and issues that affect the league.
- Promote, collaborate and lead marketing, sponsorship, growth, and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Actively build relationships and enhance community representation with programs and families.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team across marketing, communications, sponsorship, and operations to achieve set objectives.
- Oversight of the organization’s financial functions including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to ensure continued growth and viability of the league.
- Demonstrate and uphold the CSSHL’s core values, reputation, and our competitive position, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
- Promote the CSSHL to advisors and coaches of various Junior Hockey and College/University hockey teams.
- Act as a representative of the organization as appropriate in its relationships with investors, agencies and relevant groups such as Hockey Canada and its Member Branches, our programs, the CHL and CJHL.
- Assist in the negotiation of key partnerships and contracts to support league growth.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, 10 years of progressive experience in a senior leadership role, or a combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as an CEO/ President including successful financial management and strategic focus in a private or public sector.
- Proven success in process improvement, leadership, project management, and business development.
- Governance experience in the not-for-profit environment or education sector. ICD designation is an asset.
- Knowledge of the education landscape including post-secondary.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams towards achieving strategic objectives.
- Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders including a board of directors, elected officials, and representatives of business.
- Knowledge of the hockey landscape, its structure, and key stakeholders.
- Experience in working from a satellite location to obtain desired results.

- Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to enhance relationships with our stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate the dynamic sport and hockey ecosystem.
- Ability to deal with difficult and ambiguous situations while being able to influence and lead change.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
- Ability to travel to different countries.
