For our season-opening event, the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau Board of Directors is thrilled to have industry-leading communications and marketing specialists discuss the shift in popularity and ongoing challenges in women’s sports. In this panel discussion, Elizabeth Binette, Vice President of the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau chapter, will host a discussion on this increasingly hot subject.

 This interactive event will bring experts from Ottawa to share their insights on the public relations, communications, and marketing involved in making sports fair and equitable.

 Panellists will discuss:

  • The media representation and portrayal of females in sports and how communications teams respond;
  • How sponsorship and funding affect the marketing of women’s sports, including audience retention and engagement between game days;
  • The effects of communications on equity and advocacy in women’s sports and;
  • Female athletes as brands.
