Presenters

Nicole Beauregard

As the Director of Recreation and Community Services for the City of Prince Rupert, Nicole is passionate about physical literacy across the lifespan and the role of municipal government in local leadership and collective impact. Nicole has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Health Promotion. In 2023, at the International Physical Literacy Conference in New York, Nicole co-emceeded this event and participated on the Sport for Life leadership team to review the conference abstract submissions. This conference welcomed over 200 delegates from around the world. Nicole participated on a panel presentation on how to activate physical literacy in communities by sharing highlights of community best practices from five different communities where she was the lead consultant. She also hosted a snapshot session that showcased a workshop and programming framework to support enhanced mobility in older adults. This framework has been used in Kamloops and recently activated in Prince Rupert with community partners. Now, Nicole is working with a local neighbouring Indigenous community, Lax Kw’alaams, to support Enhanced Mobility for Elders.
