The UNB Women in Sport Conference is a student-led initiative driven by passionate and motivated students at the University of New Brunswick who have recognized the barriers that women face in sport. This conference will gather like-minded individuals across Canada who share a passion for sport and leading a healthy and active lifestyle. We aim to engage and connect students from diverse backgrounds to make a positive impact on girls and women and their lifelong participation in sport.
The 2021 UNB Women in Sport Virtual Conference will educate and empower girls and women to be confident, passionate, and resilient leaders within sport, the community, and their everyday lives. It is an opportunity to inspire a community of delegates through engaging discussions and interactions, and hearing from strong and leading female voices in sport. The conference features keynote speaker Erica Gavel, Paralympic Wheelchair Basketball athlete, and TSN personality Michael Landsberg. The conference also includes panel discussions on topics related to leadership, coaching, racial equity and mental health, as well as Canadian Women & Sport workshops.
We aim to use the power of sport as a catalyst for social change and gender equity. We invite students and members of the community across Canada who share a passion for sport and breaking barriers to join our conversation.
