In this webinar, hear from rugby athlete, Olympian, thought leader, community organizer and speaker Pamphinette Buisa about her lived experiences in sport and physical activity.
Presenter
Pamphinette is a first-generation Canadian, of Congolese descent. She is a community organizer, activist, and Olympian who utilizes her platform to amplify voices and challenge systems of oppression. She led the Canadian Women’s rugby team at the Olympics to shed light on truth and reconciliation in Canada. She exemplifies how to be both a champion of sport and of social equity.
During the recent resurgence of civil rights movements, she committed her energy to advocate for various equity-seeking communities. She has spent a lot of her time working frontline with marginalized populations, in a community organizing and outreach capacity, and bridging broader networks of solidarity. Her areas of focus are resilience building, high-performance sport and team culture, anti-racism, leadership, social and racial justice, and decolonization.
