An action packed weekend with the main topic being the importance of speed in all event areas of track and field, so we will explore speed development across all events, transfer of speed improvements into event success, IST perspectives on speed and athlete health, as well as many other interesting topics.
Our main line-up of presenters will be:
1) Steven Rajewsky: Assistant Coach at the University of Michigan in charge of sprints/hurdles/relays. (Also the coach of Savannah Sutherland (Borden, Sask) the 2023 NCAA champion in the 400m hurdles, and 2023 World Championship semi-finalist)
2) Richard Parkinson: Athletics Canada East Hub Throws Coach. (the coach of Sarah Mitton, 4th at 2022 World Championships in ShotPut, and 2nd at the 2023 World Championships)
3) Jason Reindl- Head Coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. (the coach of Michelle Harrison, 2022 and 2023 World Championship semi-finalist in 100m hurdles, and Nicole Ostertag, 2023 Canadian National champion in Heptathlon).
All sports and coaches can benefit from learning more about speed development. Would be a benefit to all coaches.
