Sport Law and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) are proud to host the final Hope
on the Horizon event in collaboration with Markel Canada on June 4 at the RA Centre in Ottawa. In addition to sharing the impact of the tour, Markel will be announcing an exciting new initiative that will enhance the insurance capacity of sport organizations.
The Hope on the Horizon Tour began in April 2023 and travelled to PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Yukon, British Columbia, Nunavut, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Manitoba. During the workshops, participants were able to learn and contribute to discussions related to good governance, risk management, safety in sport, values-based leadership, True Sport activation, and more. There was a deep desire by provincial, territorial, and community sport organizations to proactively address the limitations of the current sport landscape and to inspire sustainable change. In all, 12 collaborators created the opportunity for sport leaders from across the country to have meaningful conversations about healthy, human sport.
