Join us for our 6th episode of the Sport, Leadership and Social Change series where we’ll explore Fostering Diversity and Inclusion In and Through Sport.

Sport is not always inclusive or accessible. Yet sport has also been one of the most powerful platforms for fostering inclusion and diversity. We will be examining what can we learn THROUGH sport about the value of diversity and inclusion and the kinds of work needs to be done IN sport to better embrace diversity and achieve inclusion.

This session is hosted by Dr. Jennifer Walinga, professor at Royal Roads University’s School of Communication and Culture alongside guest panelists:

>>Gololcha Boru, Program Manager for the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba (IRCOM)

>>Stephanie Dixon, International and Canadian Paralympic Committees, Paralympian 2000, 2004, 2008

>>John Lyall, member of the Kwa-kwa-ka’wakw First Nation, Vice Principal Edward Milne School, Director of Thunder Rugby, President of Vancouver Island Rugby Union

>>Marnie McBean, Chef de Mission 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Author, Olympian 1992, 1996, 2000

>>Carolyn Trono, Director Quality Sport Development, Sport for Life
