Frequently asked questions
How can my organization access SPORTDiscus?
As part of your SIRC Premier Subscription, you can access SPORTDiscus, the leading bibliographic database for sport and physical activity-related research and publications. This is available exclusively to SIRC subscribers involved in the development of sport in Canada.
How do I provide my members with access to the SPORTDiscus?
Your members will receive access to SPORT Discus directly from the member’s area on your website. This includes employees, board members, coaches, members, and students of the Subscriber. We encourage you to share the information you find. However, SIRC respects the Copyright Act and we would ask that you please see our Terms and Conditions for more information prior to sharing.
What is an account administrator?
The SIRC Subscription account administrator is the main contact for the organization’s subscription. They will have a separate login from their organization’s members. For those with a SIRC Premier Subscription, it is only the account administrator’s account that can post a job.
How many jobs can I post with my subscription?
Subscribers can post up to 10 job opportunities each year as part of the subscription, including roles for employees, volunteers, board members, and interns. Volunteer and board member positions beyond this limit may be considered on a case-by-case basis for flexibility.
The application deadline date for my job posting has come, how do I remove my job from the SIRC website?
All postings are automatically removed from the SIRC website at 11:59pm (ET) on the application deadline date.
What do I get when I post on the job board?
The job is featured in the Canadian Sport Daily, our newsletter that is to sport leaders from coast-to-coast-to-coast. In addition, SIRC highlights posted jobs on social media, and your job may be next!
Is the subscription available to for-profit organizations?
The SIRC subscription is intended for not-for-profit organizations. For-profit organizations may be subject to additional costs when using SIRC’s services.
What are the job posting limitations for members or partner organizations?
Job postings are limited to the organization holding the SIRC Premier Subscription and do not include postings for or on behalf of their members or partner organizations.
Can I edit my job posting?
SIRC is happy to edit any job posting as needed. The best way to do so is to email info@sirc.ca with the necessary edits included.
What kind of roles can be posted on the job board?
The SIRC job board is intended for all your recruitment needs, including full-time and part-time employees, internships, volunteers, board members, contractors, and requests for proposals.
I have the same job available in multiple locations. Do I need to make multiple postings?

I just submitted a job, when will the job posting appear on the website?
