Women’s Para Hockey of Canada (WPHC), a prominent organization committed to fostering systems change within hockey, is thrilled to announce its collaboration with the Rogers All IN initiative for an upcoming campaign set to reach audiences nationwide through Rogers Sports & Media’s suite of extensive platforms. This partnership aims to shed light on the imperative changes needed to provide equal opportunities for women+ and girls in para hockey. Scheduled to launch on June 13th and run until August 4th, the campaign seeks to create a significant impact across the country, with coverage across television, radio, and social media channels.

“Women’s Para Hockey of Canada is grateful and thrilled to have been selected as one of Rogers Sports & Media’s All IN partners,” said Janice Coulter, CEO of WPHC. “We know that sport and recreation opportunities for girls and women+ with disabilities are essential, and together, we can champion change within the hockey community.”

Rolling out simultaneously will be WPHC’s Sticks In 2.0 campaign, an effort to raise funding from corporate sponsors so that for the first time, the Women’s National Para Hockey Team is fully funded. The partnership will not only amplify the ongoing necessity for corporate backing but also spotlight para hockey and the ongoing battle for equity experienced by athletes in the women’s game.

“Rogers’ support will have a major and lasting impact on improving accessible and inclusive sporting opportunities for girls and women+,” added Coulter. “We are so thankful for this chance to advance the sport and make a difference in communities across Canada.”

The campaign will mainly focus on:

  • Increasing brand awareness: The campaign will drive awareness of Women’s Para Hockey of Canada, and the sport, to Canadians so girls and women+ with disabilities know there is a pathway to high-performance sport.
  • Driving financial support: The campaign aims to build advocacy actions by Canadians on behalf of Women’s Para Hockey of Canada and its coaches and athletes to increase fundraising (personal or corporate) by highlighting that WPHC, and its athletes, are self-funded and need support. About Women’s Para Hockey of Canada WPHC is an organization committed to enabling Canadian girls and women+ with disabilities to achieve long-term participation and sporting excellence in para hockey with a sustainable program nationally.
