April 1, 2025 – Vancouver, BC: BC Rugby is delighted to welcome Trail RFC as a new Affiliate Member Club.
Trail RFC aims to develop Rugby in the West Kootenays, with focus on promoting the game of Rugby to men, women, and youth to help build community in Trail and surrounding areas.
By joining BC Rugby as an Affiliate Member, Trail RFC will contest the BC Rugby Northern/Interior Leagues in the Kootenays Division alongside Elk Valley Bulls and the Rocky Mountain Rogues.
This is the latest success for BC’s Northern and Interior Leagues, which have seen remarkable growth over the past four years and continue to expand programming in some of BC’s most remote areas.
“Trail RFC are excited to join the BC Rugby Union as an Affiliate Member. We are already seeing immense growth from our Mini Rugby program, to our senior men’s and women’s, and look to continue building as part of BC Rugby.,” said Trail RFC President Cory Walker.
“We are excited to welcome Trail RFC to the BC Rugby family. We are seeing promising growth in our Northern and Interior Leagues, and the addition of Trail RFC into the Kootenays Division will no doubt provide more competition and more games within the region,” said BC Rugby Interim CEO John Tait.
