Top Pre-Novice and Novice Skaters Head to Edmonton for 2025 Skate Canada Trophy

OTTAWA, ON (February 4, 2025) – Over 270 pre-novice and novice skaters are set to compete this week at the 2025 Skate Canada Trophy, taking place from February 6-9 at the Booster Juice Recreation Centre in Terwillegar, Edmonton. This new national event combines the prior Novice Canadian Championships and Skate Canada Challenge – Pre-Novice/Novice, featuring skaters in the men’s, women’s, pairs, and ice dance disciplines.

The competition will showcase up-and-coming talent from across Canada, including last year’s pre-novice champions Tobias Liu (men’s), Vienna Vidinovski (women’s), Jaslynn Wong and Nico Conforti (pairs), and Annabelle Théroux and Rafael Gossard (ice dance) who are returning to compete at the novice level. New talent will have the opportunity to shine in the pre-novice competition as skaters across all disciplines attempt to land on the podium at the national level.

Admission for this event is free. For more information including the schedule, entries and starting orders, please click here. The competition livestream can be accessed on skatecanada.ca or directly on the Skate Canada Daily Motion Page.
