The Touch Rugby Boom: BC’s Hottest Sport This Summer

BC Rugby CEO Annabel Kehoe is available for interview about the rise of Touch Rugby in British Columbia, as we help launch a host of adult and youth Summer leagues throughout the Province. In the early stages of the global pandemic, Touch Rugby experienced a rise in popularity in BC. By offering Touch Rugby, many of our Clubs enjoyed a sizeable boost in Member numbers during Fall 2020 compared to the previous year. 

Prince Rupert Seaman FC (208%), Evergreen Masters (150%), Twilighters Masters (79%), Comox Valley Kickers (44%), Burnaby Lake (20%), James Bay Athletic Association (19%), Port Alberni Black Sheep (16%), Scribes RFC (12%), Axemen Rugby Club (11%) and Kamloops Rugby Club (6%) all saw significant rises in Member numbers in Fall 2020 compared to Fall the previous year.
